STUDY NOTES :
Passive listening - occurs when a listener tries to make sense out of a speaker's remarks without being able to interact with the speaker.
EXAMPLE -
The passive listening would be students hearing an instructor's lecture without having the opportunity to ask questions or otherwise interact with the speaker.

STUDY NOTES :
The self-serving bias - in attempt to convince ourselves and others that the positive face we show to the world is true, we tend to judge ourselves in the most generous terms possible.
EXAMPLE -
On one hand, when others suffer, we often blame the problem on their personal qualities. On the other hand, when we suffer, we blame the problem on forces outside ourselves.
